Crunchy and sweet apples grown in Marden, a village in the Maidstone District, are simply delicious! There is a real thriving industry there in producing pommes and villagers are thrifty in other ways too. Residents have been practising ye olde method of bartering but uses the internet to exchange services and goods in exchange for barter credits. A fanstastic idea!
The culture of this quaint village is absorbing and encapsulated superbly in the Marden Heritage Centre in Marden Library which was opened by politician Ann Widdecombe in 2007. Marden Primary School and Marden County Primary School serve local youngsters well in all their educational needs.
