Brasted is a village within the district of Sevenoaks in Kent. It is also a civil parish, which includes Toys Hill and Brasted Chart. The name of Brasted was originally ‘Briestede’ as recorded in 1086, stemming from the Old English for ‘broad place’. It is located on the A25 road, between Westerham and Sundridge, and the M25 motorway is not far away. Brasted was popular with RAF pilots at Biggin Hill during the Second World War, who frequented the local pub, White Hart. In the present day, the village still retains 18th century houses and it has a winding main street, with a number of antique shops, which adds to its attraction.
